Learned something new today! Thank you for this and the reminder to practice discernment and seek out original sources.

“Without integrity, the fabric wears, the history is rewritten, and humanity begins to lose touch with its proper connection to God(dess) as they appear in all things, natural and cosmic.” So true!

THIS. Just another woke new age "thing" to use for superiority over common folk I think. Hilarious that all the sudden the gregorian calender means something when they usually talk terribly about it in the name of the 13 month matriarchal calender. Stunning research done by you by the way. I hope so many people see this. ❤️❤️👏

The astrology of the 8:8 Lion’s Gate was discussed in detail by Dane Rudhyar in his 1936 book titled The Astrology of Personality (free access online). I, Ray Mardyks did not use the expression Lion’s Gate in 1998. For ancient roots, research the “dog days of summer”, with Wikipedia being a good place to start.

The correct astrological definition of “Lion’s Gate” refers to the position midway between solstice and equinox at 15° Leo in the tropical zodiac. The Sun is in this position around August 8th, every year. Dane Rudhyar has several pages discussing this in detail (1936, 1938). Here lies a portal to preserving the ‘integrity of astrology’.

The Sun was at 15° Leo between 8/6 and 8/7 this year. Would read your reference if I could find it “for free online” as you said, but maybe someday I will add the print addition to my collection. Sirius is a dog star and I don’t see how the dog days of summer have anything to do with the archetype of the Lion, neither do I consider Wikipedia a source, but to each their own.

The Sun is in Leo when the Dog Star rises. Alice Bailey discussed the connection in 1951, in Esoteric Astrology. Ray Mardyks’ Facebook has clear facts about the Lion’s Gate, if you’re interested. What exactly can’t you find?

I have to make a clear correction, in that I did not know that the person I was speaking with in this exchange *is* Ray Mardyks (until now)! I hope it was clear by my article that I never insinuated that you used the term "Lion's Gate" or even coined the phrase, which was my whole point as some people seem to believe that this tradition partly arose from you. I have seen many counter points to the Lion's Gate naysayers and have yet to see any compelling evidence that would make me align with August 8th as an "abundant" day, or portal of some kind, on a yearly basis. I do understand to some extent the significance of the Sun being at these 15° point throughout the year, especially as it relates to the Wheel of the Year.

The abundance thing comes from the numerology of 8. Reading Rudhyar might be helpful. The Astrology of Personality, chapter on the zodiac. He discusses dividing it by four and then by eight. He discusses “gates” also. It’s free on the Internet. There is more I can say, but I’d prefer waiting to be asked. I think it’s kinda cool that I tuned into what was to become the Lions Gate in 2005, back in 1998. I recently reread the original article and learned a few things. I also have an updated version with graphics and pictures. I think it’s a good example of New Earth Galactic Astrology. Access can be had by sending me, preferably a gmail, email address. DMs on Instagram are good.
