It’s been three Moons since we moved into the off-grid cottage. Three menstrual cycles, consistent with a new rhythm. And once the energy of all the excitement started leaving the field, I new it was time to reconnect to our journey. To remember that indeed we were in preconception, and all the mundane daily rituals, the boring financial responsibilities, and the seeming nothingness of “waiting” around, were part of a very intentional period of preparation to welcome new life into our lives.
Although we felt a bit spotlighted while recording this conversation, know that we didn’t “do it for the ‘gram’”. Holding Couple’s Council is a practice we’ve held dear for many years. It’s taken the form of Full Moon rituals and tarot readings, consciousness raising and intimacy exercises, business visioning and budget meetings. In one form or another, coming together to regroup and anchor into our relationship has possibly saved us from drowning over and over again.
In this 1-hour meeting, we sat together on the bathroom floor (the only room in our house with a door) and had our first real discussion since our move about preconception.
Some things we didn’t cover:
Alcohol and cannabis consumption, which will be abstained from during this time.
Non-native EMF exposure, which is completely mitigated for us due to our chosen relocation, which is a WiFi-free property.
Water, again resolved by our chosen relocation which is fed by deep mountain spring water.
Detoxing our home environment, a process that has been ongoing for years and so we no longer have products that need to be removed or “greened”.
Keeping energetic boundaries with the company we keep, the thoughts we fuel, and the media we consume.
“If it isn’t yinful, I don’t want it.”
